5th Annual Longest Day of Golf
As we all know, the Earth tilts on an axis as it orbits around the sun. In the Northern Hemisphere, June 21 is the day when we are tilted closest to the sun and thus the sun appears highest in the sky. That means the sun spends the most amount of time above the horizon that day, making it the longest day of the year.
What does that mean? Time for The Longest Day of Golf, of course!!! In Bent Tree, we celebrate this spectacular day, albeit 2 days later… with a fun and worthy fundraiser to support the Bent Tree Foundation.
Eight intrepid golfers (four men and four women) golf continuously throughout this long, hot day. This year the teams are comprised of Dino Colston, Len Hill, Rob Johnson, and Fred Crain for the men and for the women Susan Carmichael, Faye Cole, Sue Williams and Kathy Hall. Tee off is 8:00 AM and their objective is to play as many holes of golf as each team can in order to raise money for the Scholarship/Grant program of the Bent Tree Foundation.
