CONTINUED SUCCESS AT THE
“FLAPJACKS FOR THE FOUNDATION” FUNDRAISER
By Colin Thompson
The Bent Tree Foundation held its ninth fundraising event at FATZ Café on Saturday morning, November 11. All our attendees enjoyed the breakfast that FATZ so generously provides for various charitable and humanitarian purposes. This fundraiser was held to raise money for the Foundation’s Stray Animal Care Fund, the Scholarship/Grant Fund as well as other Foundation projects. With the help of many wonderful volunteers, who served as waiters, servers and dishwashers, we were able to provide our attendees with a fine meal plus the enjoyment of being served by their neighbors.
Our wonderful animal mascots, Foddrill and Wilson, greeted our friends and neighbors at the door, helped to pick the winning raffle tickets out of the basket and helped us show our gratitude for the continued generosity from our community for our Animal Care Fund. Additionally, it goes without saying, everyone was delighted to see Wayne and Vicki Wilson as they continue to help with this event.
The Foundation sold raffle tickets for the opportunity to win one of seven prizes. Our winners were: Mary Blackwell won a Kindle Fire tablet; Tim Long won a bottle of aged single malt Scotch Whisky; Ray Lorenzi won a bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne; Diann Cox won a $50 HoneyBaked Ham gift certificate; Mary Lou Weng won a $50 HoneyBaked Ham gift certificate; Barry Weatherly won a Last Catch $20 gift certificate; and Mary Blackburn won a Clock Tower Vera Bradley travel hanging organizer. Congratulations to all our winners!
We so appreciate all of your donations, your attendance and your volunteerism. The Bent Tree Foundation could not function without all the wonderful community support.
We look forward to our tenth FATZ breakfast next March. Please support the business sponsors who continue to assist the Foundation – particularly those listed above.
