What a wonderful community we live in!

The Bent Tree Foundation’s annual golf tournament, known as the Bent Tree Foundation Golf Challenge, was scheduled to be played this past June 24th. Unfortunately, the event was canceled due to the uncertainty of restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 virus.
In spite of the tournament’s cancellation, leaders of groups that would have played took action! An appeal for donations in support of Pickens County student scholarships and teacher grants was made; and without a single golf ball being teed up, $7,780.00 was donated. The generosity of our golfing community is truly overwhelming!
There were10 groups that participated in this fundraising event: the BTLGA 18 Holers, the BTLGA 9 Holers, the Bent Tree MGA, the Bent Tree Men’s Bible Study Group, the Friday Couples Group, the Purdy Group, Steve Crain’s CAD Home Design Group, Sunday Golf and Grins, the Ten Dollar Bunch and the Thursday Night Poker Club.
The Bent Tree Foundation is extremely grateful to all who took the challenge and donated – especially during these trying times when the tournament could not even officially be held. Such a wonderful community indeed!
