March 2017
The Bent Tree Foundation held its eighth fundraising event at FATZ Café on Saturday morning, March 25. As usual, we had 100+ attendees who enjoyed the breakfast that FATZ so generously provides for various charitable and humanitarian purposes. This fundraiser was held to raise money for the Foundation’s Stray Animal Care Fund, the Scholarship/Grant Fund as well as other Foundation projects. With the help of many wonderful volunteers, who served as waiters, servers and dishwashers, we were able to provide our attendees with a fine meal plus the enjoyment of being served by their neighbors.
Once again our animal mascots, Foddrill and Wilson, greeted our friends and neighbors at the door, helped to pick the winning raffle tickets out of the basket and helped us show our gratitude for the continued generosity from our community for our Animal Care Fund. Additionally, it was wonderful to get to see Wayne and Vicki Wilson again as they returned to help with the event.
In addition to a delicious breakfast, the Foundation sold raffle tickets for the opportunity to win one of seven prizes. Our winners were: Margie Robinson won the Kindle Fire tablet; Lynn Manni won the bottle of aged Dewar’s Scotch Whisky; Fred McLam won the bottle of Moet & Chandon Champagne; Keith Hunter won the $50 HoneyBaked Ham gift certificate; Jan Kitchen won the $25 FATZ gift certificate; Jason Uchitel won the Carriage House gift certificate for five lunches for two; and Margie Robinson won the $20 Last Catch gift certificate. Congratulations to all our winners!
“Flapjacks for the Foundation” was yet again a great success. We so appreciate all of your donations, your attendance and your volunteerism. The Bent Tree Foundation could not function without all the wonderful community support.
We look forward to our ninth FATZ breakfast in November. Please support the business sponsors who continue to assist the Foundation – particularly those listed above.
