Grants:
The Bent Tree Foundation awarded five grants to teachers in local Pickens County schools. They include Kelly Howell, a teacher at Jasper Elementary, was awarded $500 to purchase novels and thematic units on scientific topics which will benefit approximately 100 third-grade students. Animal Caring:
All too often, stray animals – dogs and cats – are found roaming inside Bent Tree. Public Safety personnel do a great job catching these animals and placing them in the pen located in the trash collection area. Sometimes they are simply lost and require nothing more than checking their collar for a phone number and contacting the owner.
